Born Juaquin James Malphurs, the artist is suprisingly a Jamaica, Queens native. He and his family re-located to Riverdale, Georgia when he was nine years old. Ten years later, his fate was sealed when he signed the dotted line with So Icey. Gucci Mane coined the name Waka, short for Juaquin, and Flocka, a variation of the Spanish term "flaca" meaning thin, skinny or dragon. The So Icey Entertainment artist is the protege of the Gucci Mane, himself and the rest is history...
